Qamra

Design Rationale

Qamra was designed for a specific client scenario: a Dubai-based real estate developer presenting a mixed-use tower project to sovereign wealth fund representatives and family office investors across the Gulf. The audience expects density — floor plates, GFA, phasing diagrams, projected yields — but they also respond to presentation quality as a proxy for development quality. The brief was to make data readable without making it cold, and to make ambition legible without making it loud.

The data architecture in Qamra is structured as a hierarchy: macro view first, unit detail second, financial projection third. Each property listing opens with a full-screen unit viewer that holds a single render at maximum fidelity, overlaid with a specification drawer that slides in on interaction. The master plan grid is built on a system of phase cards — each containing completion date, total units, typology breakdown, and asset class — that can be read as a standalone investor summary or navigated as a live site. Numbers are always right-aligned; text is always left. The system does not deviate.

The RTL implementation is not a translation layer applied after the fact — it is a foundational design decision. Arabic typography is treated with the same optical care as the Latin system: tracking adjusted for screen rendering, leading set for reading comfort in both scripts, and the compositional hierarchy mirrored rather than simply reversed. Qamra is the correct template for any developer operating in the GCC who understands that bilingual design is not a compliance requirement but a competitive advantage.
